HOW TO RECORD A PRESENTATION

All GeoAmericas 2020 Online sessions will be held live, with live interaction between presenters and the audience for questions, answers and discussions. Also, all sessions will have moderators with live participation.

However, presentations based on power point must be previously recorded. This applies to the presentation of approved papers, discussion and training sessions.

Presentations must be recorded (using any software or application for this purpose) accomplishing the following rules:

  • Presentations must be prepared using the official template of the GeoAmericas 2020 online (available for download below).

  • The presentation must be recorded with the ppt file in presentation mode in full screen.

  • The recording must be provided with narration (voice over), only audio, without any image of the presenter / speaker.

  • The maximum time of the recording must fit to the maximum allowable presentation time respectively to each session to which the presentation is entitled to (see orientation for presentation duration below).

  • Tip #1: use less animation effects as possible during the presentation.

  • Tip #2: use a proper headset or earphone with a good quality microphone for the audio recording.

  • Tip #3: record the presentation in a silent place, free of external noises.

  • Tip #4: use the Power Point digital pointer feature to make your presentation more didactic as much as pertinent.

  • Tip #5: if you want to present yourself to the audience, include a face picture of yours on the paper title presentation slide.

For the recording, one may use the Power Point tool for that. See below a detailed guideline on how to record using Power Point.
